Assets and Income of Punjab Livestock Development Board

•Fixed assets of the Animal Husbandry Department including land, buildings, machinery, equipments, Livestock and other assets of
     1.Semen Bank, Bull Farm & Bull Mother Farm, Patiala.
     2.Semen Station, Bull Farm & Bull Mother Farm, Nabha.
     3.Semen Station, Kapurthala.
     4.Semen Station, Bull Farm & Bull Mother Farm, Ropar.
were transferred to the Punjab Livestock Development Board on Rs. 1/- lease.
•The Building of Livestock Complex Income comes from Rental Income of Livestock Complex Building.
•Perchee Fee of Artificial Insemination done in the state.
•The Grant-in-aid from Government of India, State Government, any other agency meant for the Livestock Development in Punjab comes directly to the Punjab Livestock Development Board.



Major Activities /projects /schemes/programmes:

•Breed Improvement in dairy animals(Cattle and Buffalo) through production of frozen semen straws using elite germ plasm
•Implementing various GOI projects alloted to PLDB under RGM and Utilization of the funds issued by GOI regarding the same.

Progeny testing Murrha Projects (PT-M)
(2019-20 to 2025-26)

Objectives:
     •Production of High Genetic merit (HGM) Murrah Bulls through PT (RGM)
     •Production of High Genetic Merit 360 Murrah bulls for genetic up-gradation of Murrah Buffaloes in the State.
•Funded by : 100 % Govt. of India Funded through NDDB, Implemented By: PLDB
•Districts under this project: Patiala, Sangrur and Barnala.
•The Funds are made available as per requirmnet in Treasury Single Account (TSA) by NDDB.

Progeny testing Sahiwal Projects (PT-S)
(2019-20 to 2025-26)

Objectives:
     •Production of High Genetic merit Sahiwal Bulls through Progeny testing (RGM)
     •Production of High Genetic Merit 235 Sahiwal Bulls for genetic up-gradation of indigenous cows - Sahiwal in the State
•Funded by : 100 % Govt. of India Funded through NDDB, Implemented By: PLDB
•Districts under this project : Fazilka and Shri Muktsar Sahib.
•The Funds are made available as per requirmnet in Treasury Single Account (TSA) by NDDB.

Pedigree Selection Nili Ravi Projects (PS-NR)
(2019-20 to 2025-26)

Objectives:
     •Production of High Genetic merit Nili Ravi Bulls through Pedigree Selection (RGM)
     •Production of High Genetic Merit 30 Nili Ravi bulls for genetic up-gradation of Nili Ravi Buffaloes in the State.
•Funded by : 100 % Govt. of India Funded through NDDB, Implemented By: PLDB
•Districts under this project : Amirtsar, Taran Tarn, Ferozepur.
•The Funds are made available as per requirmnet in Treasury Single Account (TSA) by NDDB.

National Milk Recording Programme (NMRP)
(2023-24 to 2025-26)

Objectives:
     •To locate Superior Germplasm in breed tractc/milk pockets.
     •Systematic Milk Recording of Elite HF animals in selected districts
     •To Promote breeding with HGM bulls.
     •To collect and publish production and breeding records of registered animals.
     •Total Centers= 90. Average Animal Recorded in a year per center = 72.
•Funded by : 100 % Govt. of India Funded through NDDB, Implemented By: PLDB
•Districts under this project : Moga, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib.
•The Funds are made available as per requirmnet in
Treasury Single Account (TSA) by NDDB.
